The Classic - Port2Port

Tour map

A running tour along Tel Aviv's iconic promenade, taking you from port to port across 4,000 years of history!

We’ll start with a light warm-up run from the Old Jaffa Port to the Clock Tower, where we’ll dive into some fascinating history. Then, we’ll head north along the promenade, crossing the Charles Clore Bridge, passing by the Etzel Museum, and the Hassan Bek Mosque, learning about the city’s boundaries in 1948.

We’ll pick up the pace along Tel Aviv’s famous beaches until we reach London Garden, where we’ll discuss the waves of immigration that shaped the city. From there, we’ll head to "Atarim" Square, learn about the "Geddes Plan" that brought Tel Aviv closer to the sea, and get a sense of how the city we see today came to be.

Our final stretch takes us to Tel Aviv Port and the mouth of the Yarkon River, where we’ll chat about the first Maccabiah Games, the Levant Fair, and learn about fall of the Ottoman empire in WW1 in this very place.  We’ll wrap up by running across the Wauchope Bridge, connecting with the Israel National Trail near Reading Power Station.

Route Length: About 7.5 km
Tour Duration: Around two hours
Customizations: The start and end points can be reversed, and there’s an option for a shorter, circular route.

About me

I’m Alex, father of two daughters, a runner, and a certified tour guide in Israel. Last few years life has thrown some twists into my career path—let’s just say my resume looks like it belongs to three different people!
But one thing has remained constant through it all:
my deep love for running.

For years, I’ve been clocking tens of kilometers every week, whether in the parks or along Tel Aviv’s beach, early in the morning or late at night, rain or shine—I’m there.

Out of this, the guided running tour was born in 2022, initially aimed at tourists visiting Tel-Aviv and later also for the local crowd.

So join me for a unique running tour that will leave you speechless, full of satisfaction and knowledge, and along the way, you'll discover new places and make new friends!
